A Project for Sustainable Living Spaces

Bellini35, Sassuolo

The building, consisting of five levels including one underground, is made up of four apartments and a dedicated garage.

The upper floors accommodate the larger apartments and include loggias and spacious rooftop terraces equipped with steel shading systems. The furnishings facilitate the connection between the different spaces, and they have also been incorporated to create outdoor areas where the residents can enjoy moments of leisure.

The building consists of a large solid volume clad in clinker tiles, interspersed with rendered stringcourses, arranged in a pattern that recalls the visual effect of bricks.

DVA carried out the preliminary, definitive, and executive design, artistic direction, and BIM coordination for the project. The project was prepared from the early concept stages by creating an architectural digital model, to which models developed by structural engineers and systems engineers were added in the definitive and executive phases.

This enabled the design work to be coordinated and verified. In the executive phase, the quantities of materials and the related bill of quantities provided to the bidding companies were created through direct extraction from the prepared executive model. This was used as the digital base for verifying and monitoring the progress of the construction site, incorporating construction changes and any necessary adjustments. An important element that allowed for the definition of a final as-built model that the client can use for management, maintenance, and testing activities, combined with home automation and the comfort of the residents.

“The use of BIM and three-dimensional models made it possible to develop the project in a very short time, anticipating the 1:1 construction detail. This allowed for early verification of the design and enabled a fast construction process, free of interferences and complications.”
