A new space for hospitality

Casa dell'accoglienza, Brescia

More places and shared spaces for the new Casa dell’Accoglienza in Brescia. A system of small housing units with common areas and services, as part of an urban regeneration project centred on the concept of co-housing.

The Municipality of Brescia has approved the DVA-designed project for the new Casa dell’Accoglienza in Via Corridoni and will soon launch the tender for its construction. A €2.1 million investment will create a facility capable of hosting up to 32 users – 10 more than the current structure – by rationalising interior spaces and enhancing communal areas to foster social interaction, while also providing greater comfort and flexibility through generous porticoed outdoor spaces and the redevelopment of the adjacent garden. The building is designed to promote cultural integration among people from different backgrounds, while ensuring the necessary privacy for personal, social and religious habits.

This demolition and reconstruction project aims to integrate harmoniously into the urban fabric, increasing the number of beds without exceeding the existing building envelope. Great attention has also been devoted to environmental sustainability, leveraging renewable energy sources and, above all, minimising construction costs and future operating expenses.

Particular focus was placed on the surrounding environment, with the creation of wide porticoed outdoor spaces and the redevelopment of the adjacent garden area. The new architectural solution aims to offer dignified temporary accommodation within a broader social programme developed and supported by the municipal social services.
