Brescia Capital of Sport: the new Center of Excellence in Sanpolino
DVArea · 23 April 2026
With the completion of the works in March, the Sanpolino district is gaining a new Sports Hub set to become a reference point for Northern Italy.
A strategic infrastructure for the city of Brescia strengthens its sporting vocation through the development of two centres of excellence: the indoor athletics arena and the Olympic Training Centre for women’s artistic gymnastics.
Promoted by the Municipality of Brescia and Brescia Infrastrutture, the project involved DVArea – in a joint venture with PCMR, Architect Giuseppe De Martino, and Geolambda Engineering – as lead designer for both the detailed and executive design phases, coordinating a complex system of technical, administrative, and specialised expertise. In addition to its role as lead partner, DVArea also developed the architectural design, electrical systems design, and acoustics in-house, contributing directly to the project’s technical definition.

In a context characterised by high procedural complexity and strict time constraints associated with the PNRR, DVArea ensured rigorous control of timelines, costs, and design quality. The integrated and interdisciplinary approach enabled full compliance with planned deadlines, ensured proper reporting of allocated funds, and completed two public works of strategic importance for the area.
This infrastructure strengthens Brescia’s position within the national sports landscape and confirms DVArea’s ability to design highly specialised spaces, integrating sporting function, architectural quality, and strategic vision.
In Sanpolino, the indoor athletics facility is ready
Nearly two years to become a center of excellence in Italy. Started in June 2024, the works on the multifunctional indoor stadium in Sanpolino have been completed.
