BIM&Digital Award 2022: once again this year, DVA is among the award-winning firms
DVA · 31 October 2022
DVA ranks among the top entries in the “BIM Initiative of the Year” category at the award organised by Cluster Build in collaboration with Assobim and Saie, confirming its strong focus on digital innovation.
With the proposal “Traceability of Data and Information in a Public Contract”, presented by Roby Cominotti, Associate and Cost Controller at DVA, and Marco Gorlani, Associate at DVA and BIM Manager at DVArea, we are once again among the winners of the Bim&Digital Award organised by Cluster Build in collaboration with Assobim and Saie, in the category “BIM Initiative of the Year”.
The nomination focused on the innovative data and information management process developed for the developed and detailed design, carried out through a Temporary Grouping of Professionals (RTP), for the new Polytechnic School of Genoa: a public university complex comprising classrooms, departmental buildings, technology laboratories, and multi-storey car parks, covering a total built-up area of 100,000 m² with a project value exceeding €200 million. The project involved 14 multidisciplinary teams producing 1,750 deliverables and 34 authorities engaged in the approval process.
For this project, our company was responsible for the overall coordination of the design, BIM management, and architectural design. Thanks to the collaborative process implemented, it was possible to produce a coherent and comprehensive detailed design, complete with documentation that allowed a holistic and integrated review of drawings, documents, and models through a clear explanation of their interconnections, ensuring traceability and consistency of data and information.
This will enable the contractor to prepare a technical and financial proposal aligned with the requirements of the Contracting Authority, minimising the number of claims and economic variations during the construction phase arising from inconsistencies in the project documentation, and delivering the structure in full compliance with the required sustainability principles.
Among the awards previously received in past editions of the BIM&Digital Award are: in 2021, in the “BIM Initiative of the Year” category, for the project “Digital Management Process of Site Progress”; in 2020, in the “Commercial, Tertiary and Large-scale Buildings” category, for the digital site management of H-Campus in Roncade (TV); and in 2018, in the “Heritage Restoration and Enhancement” category, for the use of HBIM in the renovation of the Pescherie di Giulio Romano in Mantua.
Now in its sixth edition, the competition organised by Cluster Build aims to review innovation and digital transformation in the built environment. It rewards initiatives that have promoted new tools and innovative procedures in the construction sector, with the goal of improving performance and enhancing the efficiency of design, construction, management, and maintenance processes.
