Notebook No. 2. DVArea for Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture
DVArea · 3 June 2024
The second Architecture Notebook by DVArea, featuring a report on the initiatives of its benefit activities on the occasion of Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture.
5 events, 2 workshops, 40 speakers, and over 650 participants… all the topics explored during the event distilled into 120 pages rich in content and insights.
Also this year, DVArea publishes its notebook: a report on the benefit initiatives dedicated to the theme of the city of the future, on the occasion of Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture 2023.
A series of events, conferences, and meetings held at DVArea headquarters, through which our company aimed to offer— in the words of our president, Pietro Bianchi—«a contribution focused on placing people, with their needs, habits, and sensitivities, back at the heart of the design process».
Experts, architects and representatives from the supply chain, public administrators, researchers, artists, members of the Third Sector and local associations have engaged in discussions over recent months on issues that are now more relevant than ever to the urban centres of the future.
From the role of artificial intelligence and technology in city design, to public-private partnerships and the social function of art, the topics explored and the solutions proposed have demonstrated that collaboration among the various stakeholders involved in shaping our cities—along with a multidisciplinary approach—will be key to creating the spaces we will inhabit, so that they increasingly respond to people’s well-being.
DVArea’s decision to contribute to the initiatives of Bergamo-Brescia Italian Capital of Culture, with the contents of its contribution collected in this Notebook, also represents for us a way of giving back to the area where DVArea has its roots.
Founded in Brescia, the group now aims to consolidate its €13 million turnover in 2023, continuing to offer integrated architecture services and to invest in research and development, as highlighted by Armando Casella, co-founder of DVArea, in his contribution. DVArea looks to the future in its new role as general designer, always working alongside clients and stakeholders, guided by the twin pillars of culture and innovation.
