The SS 337 of Val Vigezzo receives the Envision Platinum Award
DVArea · 27 May 2026
The upgrading, refurbishment and safety improvement project of the SS 337 in Val Vigezzo has received the Envision Platinum Award, the highest recognition under the international Envision framework for sustainable infrastructure.
The official award ceremony took place yesterday, celebrating an intervention that successfully combines safety, landscape integration and environmental sensitivity along approximately 5 km of roadway in the municipality of Re, Piedmont, Italy.
The project, promoted by ANAS, was developed in collaboration with Pro Iter Group, ErreViA and Sinergo Spa. DVArea contributed to defining the environmental, landscape and architectural aspects of the infrastructure, working to develop a design that engages with the natural context and enhances the landscape of Val Vigezzo.

The SS 337 project presented a particularly complex challenge, not only due to the landscape value of the area, but also because of the number of stakeholders involved and the need to coordinate different multidisciplinary expertise within a strategic infrastructure for the region. The intervention is located in a natural and tourist environment of strong identity value, also known as the “foliage road”, where every design decision required a careful balance between functional requirements, road safety, landscape protection and the perceptual quality of the travel experience.
The Envision certification is an important recognition of a design approach focused on sustainability, combining safety, design quality, landscape awareness and respect for the region and local communities.
